Opening the console and turning on cheats

Opening the console

ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA): Press ~ on PC. On Xbox and PlayStation, first turn on Console Access in the game settings, then pause the game and press the button shown in the lower-left corner (on Xbox, pause with Menu and press View).
ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE): Press Tab on PC. On Xbox, press LB + RB + X + Y together on the pause screen. On PlayStation, press L1 + R1 + Square + Triangle together. On Switch, turn on Console Access in the settings and press − while the game is paused.

In single-player you type commands directly, e.g. God.

On a multiplayer server, first type EnableCheats <password> with the admin password, then put cheat in front of every command: cheat God. The password is the server's ServerAdminPassword.

Tips: Commands aren't case-sensitive. You can run several in one line with |: LeaveMeAlone | Fly | God (on a server, each needs cheat). Commands marked "target" act on the creature or structure under your crosshair.

Most used cheats (ready examples)

Single-player spelling. On a server, add cheat in front.

Command	What it does
`God`	God mode: no damage from attacks, explosions or falls. Use InfiniteStats against drowning. Type again to turn off.
`InfiniteStats`	Keeps health, stamina, oxygen, food and water full.
`LeaveMeAlone`	God, InfiniteStats and enemy invisibility in one.
`Fly`	Fly mode. Type Walk to turn it off.
`Walk`	Turns off fly or no-clip mode.
`Ghost`	No-clip: pass through walls and terrain. Type Walk to stop.
`GiveCreativeMode`	Puts you in Creative Mode. Short form: GCM.
`GiveEngrams`	Unlocks all crafting recipes (engrams).
`GiveResources`	Gives 50 of every resource (heavy, you may be encumbered).
`GiveColors 100`	Gives 100 of every dye.
`GiveArmorSet Chitin 10`	Gives and equips a Chitin armor set. The second number is quality (0-20).
`LevelUp Health 10`	Levels up Health 10 times. Use Stamina, Weight, MeleeDamageMultiplier... instead of Health.
`AddExperience 1000 0 1`	Gives you 1000 XP (not shared with your tribe).
`ForceTame`	Careful Target: tames the dino under your crosshair instantly. Don't use while mounted, it can crash.
`ForceTameAOE 2500`	Tames every dino within the radius.
`Summon Ankylo_Character_BP_C`	Summons a wild Ankylo. Use another creature's ID for others.
`SummonTamed Ankylo_Character_BP_C`	Summons a tamed Ankylo.
`SetTimeOfDay 06:30:00`	Sets the time to 06:30.
`DestroyWildDinos`	Careful Removes all wild creatures on the map; new ones respawn.
`KillAOE wild 3000`	Careful Kills nearby wild dinos. Use tamed, dinos, structures... instead of wild.
`DefeatAllBosses 0`	In single-player, marks every Alpha boss as defeated.
`MaxAscend 0`	In single-player, unlocks Alpha Overseer and Rockwell ascensions.
`GiveAllExplorerNotes`	Unlocks all explorer notes (the game may freeze for a while).

Character

Command	What it does
`RefillStats`	Refills all stats once.
`EnemyInvisible true`	Creatures ignore you, even if you attack. false turns it off.
`InfiniteWeight`	Removes the weight limit. Not on consoles.
`ToggleInfiniteAmmo`	Unlimited ammo. Not on consoles.
`ChangeSize 2`	Changes your size by a multiplier (2 = double).
`ClearMyBuffs`	Tries to remove your buffs (not all of them).
`GiveEngramsTekOnly`	Gives only Tek engrams (until you disconnect).
`UnlockEngram`	Unlocks a Tekgram by its blueprint path.
`Suicide`	Kills your character. Doesn't work with God on, not on consoles.
`EnableSpectator`	Switches to spectator mode. Not on consoles.
`DisableSpectator`	Leaves spectator mode.

Items and sets

Command	What it does
`GFI`	Gives an item by part of its name: GFI <name> <amount> <quality> <blueprint 0/1>.
`GiveItem`	Gives an item by its full blueprint path.
`GiveItemNum`	Gives an item by its number.
`GiveWeaponSet`	Gives every weapon of a tier plus ammo.
`GiveItemSet`	Gives a tier's item set (food, water...).
`GiveDinoSet`	Spawns a ready set of saddled dinos. Not on consoles.

Dinos and creatures

Command	What it does
`DoTame`	Careful Target: tames the dino as if done normally (sound, XP...). Don't use while mounted.
`GMSummon`	Summons a tamed creature that still needs a saddle: GMSummon "<id>" <level>.
`SpawnDino`	Spawns a creature by blueprint path at a chosen level.
`SetImprintQuality 1`	Target: sets imprint quality to 100%.
`SetBabyAge 1`	Target: grows a baby dino (0.01-1).
`SetBabyAgeAOE 1 3000`	Grows all babies within the radius.
`ClearCryoSickness`	Target: clears cryo sickness and wakes the dino.
`ForcePoop`	Makes the dino you ride or look at poop.
`LevelUpTarget`	Target: levels up one of the dino's stats.
`SetMyTargetSleeping 1`	Target: knocks out a dino or player. 0 wakes it up.
`Kill`	Careful Target: kills the creature or structure, leaving a corpse.
`DestroyMyTarget`	Careful Target: destroys the creature or structure without a corpse.
`DestroyAllEnemies`	Careful Destroys every non-player creature on the map, tames included!

World, time and teleporting

Command	What it does
`SetDay 1`	Sets the day number.
`Slomo 2`	Changes game speed (1 is normal, max 16).
`PlayersOnly`	Freezes all creatures and crafting; players can still move. Type again to undo.
`ToggleDamageNumbers`	Toggles floating damage numbers.
`TP red`	Teleports to a named location, e.g. red to the red obelisk.
`TPCoords`	Teleports to GPS coordinates: TPCoords <lat> <lon> <altitude> <layer>.
`Teleport`	Teleports you forward until you hit something. Not on consoles.
`SetPlayerPos`	Moves you to x y z coordinates. Not on consoles.
`TeleportToPlayerName`	Teleports you to a named player (short: TPName).
`TeleportPlayerNameToMe`	Teleports a named player to you.
`RepairArea`	Repairs damaged structures in the radius. Not on consoles.
`DestroyStructures`	Careful Destroys ALL structures of ALL players on the map!
`SaveWorld`	Saves the world now. Not on consoles.

Server admin

On a server, type EnableCheats <password> first and prefix the others with cheat.

Command	What it does
`EnableCheats`	Enables admin commands with the admin password. Not needed in single-player. Not on consoles.
`SetCheatPlayer true`	Enables cheat commands that affect you, your mount and the world.
`ShowMyAdminManager`	Opens the admin manager: players, bans, server info. Not on consoles.
`ListPlayers`	Lists connected players and their IDs.
`KickPlayer`	Kicks a player by ID. Not on consoles.
`BanPlayer`	Bans a player by ID. Not on consoles.
`UnbanPlayer`	Unbans a player. Not on consoles.
`AllowPlayerToJoinNoCheck`	Adds a player to the whitelist. Not on consoles.
`Broadcast`	Shows a broadcast to all players.
`ServerChat`	Sends a chat message to everyone. Not on consoles.
`RenamePlayer`	Renames a player: RenamePlayer "old name" new name.
`RenameTribe`	Renames a tribe: RenameTribe "old name" new name.
`ClearPlayerInventory`	Careful Clears a player's inventory and equipped items. Not on consoles.
`DoExit`	Careful Shuts down the server. Not on consoles.

FAQ

How do I open the console in ARK?

Press ~ in Survival Ascended and Tab in Survival Evolved on PC. See the steps above for Xbox, PlayStation and Switch; in ASA on consoles, turn on Console Access in the settings first.

Why don't cheats work on a server?

On a server, type EnableCheats <admin password> first, then put cheat in front of commands (cheat God). Single-player doesn't need this.

Are ASA and ASE commands the same?

According to the source wiki, every command on this page works in both games. Some don't work on consoles (Xbox, PlayStation); we note this in the description.

Are commands case-sensitive?

No. god, God and GOD all work the same.
